The officers were stabbed multiple times by men incarcerated at the Lancaster prison. All five were treated at nearby hospitals.

A correction officer remains hospitalized in stable condition after being stabbed at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center Wednesday, according to the Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union.
