Aside from the race for president of the United States, Minnesotans will see candidates for U.S. Senate, Congress, and State House on the ballot. There is one special election for an open State Senate seat in the west metro, and there are dozens of local ballot questions. You can generate a sample ballot online.

Minnesotans will be able to cast their ballot for presidential, statewide and local elections starting on Friday. People can vote early via mail-in ballot or visit a designated early voting location before Election Day.

Minnesota voters may choose to vote early by using an absentee ballot instead of voting in person at the polling place on Election Day. Absentee ballots will be available starting Sept. 20 at the Freeborn County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office at the County Government Center.

Minnesota (KTTC) – Friday is the first day that ballots can be cast absentee for the November 5th general election. Absentee ballots can be requested through the office of the Minnesota Secretary of State. In Olmsted County, absentee voters have multiple options: by mail, in person or through direct balloting.
