Despite his controversial rift with the royal family, Prince Harry is getting some well-wishes for his birthday. The British royal, who turns 40 on Sunday, received birthday tributes from his father, King Charles III, and brother, Prince William, on social media.

According to royal expert Rebecca English, when Charles turned 75 last year, Harry rang up his dad, but the fact that the conversation and details of their call hit the news was a sore spot for the king. English explained that Charles was happy to call his son this year, but is still being careful with everything between himself and Harry.

Though the royal rift between Prince Harry, Prince William and their father King Charles continues to wage on, there are some hints that conditions are softening—åt least a little—between Harry and his father, and his recent visits to the U.K. are a major hint.
